"When I Was Young"

August 3, 2007

Featuring some of my works from my adolescent years and some more current works inspired by my early years in Cuba.

Self-portrait done in black India ink on paper using pointillism style of when I was 17.
A COLLAGE OF IMAGES

The piece in the background was inspired by my very early childhood memories of the time I spent in Cuba in my Grandfather's Terrace, thus, the title, "Grandfather's Terrace." It is a large 72" x 48" acrylic on canvas piece currently valued at $12,000.
Inspired by my childhood memories of my families' love of music. This piece is entitled "Flowers with Guiro" and is part of the Orchestral Flowers collection.
These three pencil on paper drawings were done when I was 17. They are, from top to bottom, Humphrey Bogart, Barbara Stanwyck and Yul Brynner. These drawings represent my love for Hollywood glamour as a teenager. Each piece is valued at between $700 to $1,000.
Again, inspired by my childhood memories of my families' love of music. This piece is entitled "La Guitarra" (The Guitar) and is part of my Afro-Cuban series. This is a large 52" x 52" acrylic on canvas piece currently valued at $11,000.
Special note: The sculptures seen throughout these pictures are of Miami sculptor Edward Berounsky.
