In these pieces of the Elements & Values series, although white resembles the absence of color and black encompasses them all, the language is made simple with the correlation between the two in the Black & White Collection. These works are simplistic in nature but dig deep to trigger the thoughts of the subconscious mind to reveal a message that is universal and a symbol of balance - the Yin and the Yang. Two primal opposing but complementary principles said to be found in all non-static objects and processes in the universe. Yin being dark, passive, and feminine, and Yang being light, active, and masculine. I use both recognizable and unrecognizable symbols to carry across a message that states the reality of existential life. To walk through my world is nothing more than to understand truth and reality.
