This body of work was used as a form of therapy and it is from this work that the Afro-Cuban series developed. The concept behind these paintings is to use my soul as a prism, as you would a glass prism, which refracts light and casts colors. This work allows images to come from my subconscious level and refract unto the canvas. In some cases, an experience may have triggered the images as well.
