Sunrise Community presents “Taste Meet Learn – Tampa” on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at The Italian Club of Tampa, 1731 E 7th Avenue, Ybor City, Tampa, Florida, from 6 pm to 8:30 pm.  Join us for an exquisite evening of swirling, sipping, and supporting a fantastic cause! The event will feature live music, wine tasting of Garemani wines with a food pairing, an art exhibition of my works, along with a silent auction. All proceeds will benefit Sunrise Community and the adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities they support. For ticket information and more details, click here.

The Coral Gables Community Foundation, whose mission is to inspire impactful philanthropy through charitable funds and programs using local knowledge, expertise and trusted relationships, presents its annual gala. This year’s gala, Midnight in Manhattan, will be held at the Loews Coral Gables Hotel on Friday, October 18, 2024, at 7pm.  Proceeds will benefit the Foundation’s Grantmaking and Scholarship Programs. I am honored to have three of my pieces in their silent auction.

Friends of The Underline present The Underline Sneaker Ball on September 28, 2024 at Brickell City Centre. Embark on an immersive, culinary adventure featuring Brickell City Centre food purveyors. Experience luxury and fashion at the 2024 Sneaker Ball Fashion Show as we unveil the signature sneaker with pop up performances that will showcase the rich tapestry of Miami’s cultures and customs. This event will transport you to another destination, all from the comfort of your own backyard and city. The event’s silent auction will feature one of my newest creations.

The Merici Academy Alumnae Association holds its annual luncheon at Colegio Belen in Miami on September 22, 2024. In honor of my dear friend and Merici alumnae, Gladys Rodriguez-Dod, I have donated a piece of artwork for this special occasion.

Merici Academy was a private, Catholic, bilingual elementary and secondary school for girls established in Havana by American Ursuline nuns in 1941. All classes were taught in English, except for the requisite elementary curriculum conducted in Spanish. The Academic course was much like an American high school, and the Commercial and Secretarial courses offered bilingual business training.

The His House Children’s Home, whose mission is to bring healing and hope to children and families in its care presents the 19th annual Imagine Charity Gala sponsored by Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at the JW Marriott Marquis, 255 Biscayne Blvd., Miami, Florida, from 7 to 11pm. The event will include a silent auction featuring some of my works.


September 13 – October 11, 2024

The City of Hialeah, Florida, and the Milander Center for Arts & Entertainment present a collective exhibition in honor of National Hispanic Heritage Month titled, “La Mano Hispana.” I am proud to have one of my pieces in the exhibit which opens on Friday, September 13, 2024, from 7 to 10pm, and runs through Friday, October 11, 2024. Milander Center for Arts & Entertainment is located at 4800 Palm Avenue, Hialeah, Florida. ADMISSION IS FREE.

The Ismael Cala Foundation, whose mission is to collectively impact the social development of Hispanic youth in the United States, Latin America and the Caribbean, through leadership, emotional intelligence and assertive communication programs, presents the Legacy of Light Gala on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at the JW Marriott Marquis, 255 Biscayne Blvd., Miami, Florida. The gala will benefit the JJJ Acevedo Foundation who have been at the forefront of improving health and wellness within the community via La Colonia clinics.

As part of the event, a number of my artworks will be available at the silent auction.

Pridelines Youth Services, whose mission is “To support, educate and empower South Florida’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) youth and community in safe and diverse spaces to promote dialogue, wellness, and to foster social change” presents “Queerferno, A Disco Masquerade”, Saturday, August 17, 2024, at the Coral Gables Country Club, 997 N. Greenway Dr., Coral Gables, Florida, from 6 to 11pm.  The silent auction will feature numerous pieces from several of my collections.

 

July 24, 2024

The Blue Ridge Institute, whose mission is to provide learning and renewal to community service professionals in order to create more effective leaders, holds its annual President’s Ball on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, from 6:30 to 11 pm at the Unicoi State Park in Helen, GA. I am honored that one of my art pieces was selected to be presented as a gift to the outgoing president and I will be on hand to make the presentation.

The AVILA law firm (Avila Rodriguez Hernandez Mena & Garro LLP), as a minority-owned law firm, share a deep-rooted conviction that cultivating inclusion within the firm, the  profession, and the communities they represent, is critical to their success. AVILA presents a fundraiser on Thursday, July 28, 2024, at their offices located at 2525 Ponce de Leon Blvd., Penthouse, 12th Floor, Coral Gables, FL, starting at 5:30pm. As part of the fundraiser, the firm is showcasing some of my latest works.

 

 

July 13-14, 2024

The Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden presents its annual Mango Festival, July 13-14, 2024, from 10am to 5pm. During the festival, my works will be on display at the Adam R. Rose & Peter R. McQuillan Arts Center and at the Montgomery Garden House. A portion of the sales proceeds from my works will benefit the Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden.

   

 

June 28, 2024 – August 9, 2024

“MADnest by NIDO” Art & Design Incubator presents a solo exhibition of my works titled “Unfolding Soul” in the Midtown Art District (MAD)! Join us at 138 NW 37th Street on Friday, June 28th, from 6 to 9 pm, during the District’s inaugural Art Walk. A closing reception will also be held on Saturday, August 3, 2024.  These events are in cooperation with the City of Miami, Latin American Art Pavillion (LAAP), and Arts Communication in Action (ACIA) Foundation and the exhibit is on view through August 9, 2024. The exhibit is coordinated by Maria A. Napoles, LAAP Founder & Director, and curated by Anaibis Yero, LAAP Curator.
