Biltmore Apron Series

This series was created for Carnaval Miami’s “Evening of Indulgence” presented by Florida International University and held on March 4, 2005, at the Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables, Florida. The series is titled as such since each original piece was painted directly on a white cloth apron and donated to the patrons and sponsors of the event. The series uses my Afro-Caribbean style, technique, and palette to create pieces that are symbolic of the Cuba of yesteryear with an emphasis on the food, music, and dance which everyone was about to enjoy at this event. The event featured local celebrity chef Cynthia (Cindy) Hutson guiding the table chefs, including Rodez himself, as they prepared one of Cindy’s signature dishes.
