Conceived in 2005, the Dream Series emerges from Rodez’s long practice of documenting and interpreting his dreams and nightmares. In these works, dreams are not merely remembered but transformed into visual narratives that probe the subconscious and address unresolved struggles of daily life. Nightmares, often rich with symbolism, become powerful catalysts for exploration.
Through this process, Rodez captures dream imagery on canvas and then reflects on each composition to uncover its deeper truths. Painting becomes an act of both revelation and resolution, where subconscious visions are translated into insight and healing.
Visually aligned with Contemporary Surrealism and Psychological Expressionism, the works blend symbolic abstraction with dreamlike figuration. They hover between the real and the imagined, personal and universal. Ultimately, the series invites viewers to explore their own inner landscapes of conflict, memory, and transformation, revealing the profound capacity of dreams to guide reflection, creativity, and growth.
