Artist inspiration:
This painting represents my culture’s love for Cuban coffee. It is our drug of choice. Most of us can’t live without it. In my painting I represent the coffee as being something so desirable that even the plants would want a taste of it and would do so if you set the coffee cup aside. Thus, showing how these plants develop a life of their own. Also, Cubans say that if you put the coffee grounds in the dirt of your plants that it will nourish the plant and help it grow. One thing I know for sure, once you develop a taste for this strong java, you just can’t get enough of it.
