This painting represents the art of Flamenco dancing and shows the jagged gyrating movements in the nature of the dance with its culture. Flamenco is a dance style of the Andalusian gypsies characterized by forceful often improvised rhythms. This is the third version of the Flamenco dancer. Although all of them are part of the same series, they were created using different techniques. The first of these is Divino, Que Vino, which is acrylic on canvas. In this piece I worked acrylics from light to dark. In the second piece, called Influencia Española, I worked on paper and used mixed media of acrylics, watercolor, oil crayons, and color pencils. In this third version, I have worked in a reverse mode, using acrylics and going from dark to light.
