Artist inspiration:
This painting tells my story about a journey from the darkness of a wounded womb that because of loneliness and despair the walls seemed to close-in all around me. Once I made a conscious decision to free myself and sprout from the seed that held me captive, I reached for the light of clarity and truth. For it is always said that the truth shall set you free. Obstacles may attempt to stump my growth, but regardless of life’s uncertainties and dangers I push forward, breaking ground, making my way past the adversities in life’s struggles. I remove myself from the poisons that prevent me from continuing my path to blossom-ness. I don’t know what awaits me once I have reached my destiny, but I approach it in a fearless manner knowing that I shall shed all that stifles me mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually in life. The blood that once surrounded my soul now serves to represent my passion and assertiveness as I grow and soar into the sky, the clouds, the universe, to allow me to give off the scent of who and what I am. To plant new seeds of life within myself, for truly we never stop growing in our journey toward a place of peace and harmony within ourselves. As I leave the shell of what I once was, I emerge, a metamorphosis that continually evolves, willing and ready to meet the challenges of this path we call life. And so, I grow and I grow as I call myself, “The Living Rose”.
