Artist Inspiration:
Painted in 1974, When I Was Seventeen — the artist’s first work — marks the very beginning of my artistic journey—a rare and deeply personal work that captures the moment where influence first met self-discovery. Inspired by the distinctive elegance of Patrick Nagel, whose work I first encountered in Playboy, I was drawn to his bold lines and stylized figures. From that starting point, I began to interpret and transform those ideas into something uniquely my own.
Held in my personal collection for decades, this piece has remained a quiet anchor to my origins as an artist. It is also the only oil painting I currently have available, making it especially distinctive within my body of work. Now offered for acquisition, it represents the very first chapter of a lifelong creative journey.
