Elements & Values Series

The Elements & Values Series marks a turning point in Rodez’s artistic journey — a conscious release from tradition and a leap into unrestrained freedom of expression. Begun in 2005, the series resists conventional rules of light, proportion, and perspective, instead allowing forms to emerge organically from fields of vibrant abstraction.

Paintings often begin with sweeping gestures of color applied in a spirit of abandon. From within this spontaneity, shapes take form: figures, faces, dancers, flowers, or at times more unsettling apparitions. Much like discovering images in clouds, Rodez yields to the process of discovery, allowing each canvas to reveal what it wishes to become.

The works inhabit the realms of Contemporary Expressionism and Figurative Abstraction, capturing both beauty and distortion with equal vitality. Each painting reflects the immediacy of creation unbound, where imagination and intuition lead.
